  • Black and white wedding with chic details at Newcastle Golf Club - Kylie and Jordan

September | A timeless black and white wedding, elevated with clean and sophisticated details. Kylie and Jordan were an absolute vision and brought a luxurious and refined design to the luxury golf club! | Photo By Matthew Land | There's nothing like planning and designing a wedding that will look stunning for years and years to come. Kylie and Jordan hosted and designed a timeliness wedding at New Castle Golf Club, with a classic, white and black palette and the cleanest details. We couldn't be more honored to be trusted with setting up their details and coordinating their wedding day with our Signature Package! Kylie and Jordan themselves were a vision - Kylie's clean, slicked back bun and satin, trailing ball gown really set the tone for the day. We loved their intentionally selected statement pieces that left a lasting impression - creating a unique experience was one of their priorities, after all, and they really delivered! Guests were greeted with an Aperol Spritz on a styled shelf amongst hand-selected decor. The mirrored pillars and elevated, all white florals were both lavish yet simple. And in the reception space, the creative draping behind the black and white dance floor really transformed the space. A ballroom will feel like a ballroom until you bring in something new and unique like Kylie and Jordan did. Beyond those statement pieces were endless little details that made their wedding fun for guests and K&J themselves - the minimalistic photo booth, the live band, the mirror champagne bottles and the champagne tower pour. You'll want to scroll to the end to catch all the details, plus the sunset pictures are magazine worthy. Beautiful weddings would be nothing without the creatives behind the scenes. • Luxury Sperry Tent wedding with organic & unexpected details at Norris Wines - Maddie and Jeff

August | An immersive ceremony design composed of textural grasses and a transformative reception underneath a Sperry Tent, featuring details like watercolor stationery, rattan installations, and grand floral displays. | Photo By Love Tribe | "Experience > all" - those simple 2 words were what Maddie and Jeff communicated in our first meeting, and set the tone for the overall luxurious wedding design and timeline. After many months of planning and a few different ideas, "Unexpected Greenery" was the theme we landed on for their luxury event at Norris Wines - and as you're scrolling through the gallery, you'll quickly see why. This was truly an elevated wedding weekend, with no detail left to chance. We started by securing a Sperry Tent to add a luxurious feeling foundation to the space, and protect guests from the summer elements. From there, it was months and many collaborative planning meetings to furnish, fill and flourish the space. Their ceremony immersed M&J and their guests with whimsical tall grasses and organic shapes. Their reception - a total transformation. We brought in the same organic feel of the ceremony into the tent with tall trees, stunning installations, watercolor stationery, and lightwood chairs. Details like their interactive wildflower seating chart, the stunning tunnel entrance and a plated dinner helped to create an unforgettable experience. For a wedding like Maddie and Jeff's, it takes some extreme rental coordination. One of the best deliverables of our Ultimate Package is a thorough Design Guide (click to view M&J's design board!) to show how all the elements will come together, and blend the efforts of all design-based vendors. With our Ultimate Package, we cover every base imaginable to ensure your wedding is a transformative experience for you and your guests. • How To Plan A Backyard Wedding and Essential Planning Tips

Whether you're planning a simple backyard wedding on a budget or want to host an elevated wedding on at private property, here's are invaluable tips from a team of PNW wedding planners to ensure a seamless and stress-free day, and a few weddings to take inspiration from. What's more memorable and sentimental than hosting a backyard wedding? As planners, we like to call them "private residence" weddings, which could be in the backyard of your parents' home, the barn on your grandparents property, or maybe it's an undeveloped area of family farm. No matter the scale, if you want a seamless and stress free wedding, there are quite a few logistics and challenges involved. One myth we'll dispel is that the cost of backyard weddings are not always cheaper than renting a venue. But, one thing we do know is that a venue will never replace the sentimental aspect of a private property or family home. As planners, our goal is to not only show you how to plan a seamless backyard wedding, but how to keep a realistic budget throughout the planning process. This blog is for all the engaged couples hoping to host their wedding in a sentimental place in Oregon or Washington, but want it to feel seamless, thought out, and disaster-free. We've compiled a list of invaluable tips to consider as you're planning your backyard wedding. Tips and Tricks For Planning Your Backyard Wedding 1. Plan your home improvement project early, and give extra time. One of the perks of having a private residence wedding at your property is that it gives you an excuse to tackle those improvement projects that have been piling up on your to do list. Clean out the garage, plant some flowers, clear the alleyway, repave the driveway, finish the barn, etc. We have seen time and time again that these projects take more time than most people plan on and so often families are still working on things the week of the wedding. No one needs that much stress in your life. If you decide to tackle a few things, make a list, allot extra times, and don't forget to factor in the weather. Alex and Melissa mowed and leveled a part of their family's field to allow for chairs to sit evenly on the ground. They also moved and lined the path to the field with wildflowers. Projects like this take time - they started months in advance! 2. Secure the Necessary Permits and Permissions Before you dive into the planning process, check local regulations and obtain any required permits or permissions and make friends with your neighbors. Each county and city in the Pacific Northwest may have specific rules regarding noise, parking, and the number of guests allowed, so it's essential to stay compliant to avoid any unexpected surprises on your big day. Have no fear, having planned 100+ private residence weddings over the past 15 years, we will walk you through all the legalities and take the guess work out of keeping things compliant. 4. Have a trash plan. You would not believe how much trash a wedding generates, and your backyard wedding will trash will definitely overtake a normal residential trash can. I always recommend bringing in a dumpster service for the weekend - they are honestly super affordable and they will ensure the property isn't littered with trashbags afterwards. There are also wonderful people like The Waitstaff Team who help with food service if you don't have a full service caterer, and have options to add on trash removal services. 5. Consider the Weather The Pacific Northwest is known for its unpredictable weather. When planning your wedding at a private residence, have a contingency plan in case of rain or other adverse weather conditions such as rain, extreme heat or wildfire smoke (yes, sadly this is our new reality). Guest comfort is key to a fun event. While we can hope and pray for the best weather, we create plan A's, plan B's, and plan C's and D's for all of our couples, which range from renting a tent, umbrellas, misters, patio heaters, or even an having an alternative venue in mind. Whitney and Justin had a simple tent for their guests, but stood outside in the drizzle for their ceremony to embrace the PNW rain. 6. Rent Adequate Facilities Private residences may not have the facilities needed to accommodate a large wedding party. Renting portable restrooms is often necessary. Additionally, the need for generators to ensure a consistent power supply, especially if you're hosting an outdoor event is a key component of any private residence. Did you know there are math calculations we can help you navigate to ensure the lighting plan, the bathrooms, the dj, the band, the catering tent all have enough power? If you are using generators, we will help you calculate how much fuel you will need and if we are using the electricity of the home, we will help you split the power across the various circuits so that every is smooth sailing. 7. Map Out Parking and Transportation Parking can be a significant challenge at private residences. Some properties can provide ample parking space, and other times we recommend considering offering shuttle services from nearby hotels, schools or churches to ease the transportation burden for your guests. We help our couples map out the little details like calculating parking spaces, ensuring proper traffic flow so headlights aren't streaming into your party tent, mapping out turnaround spaces, hiring parking attendants or valet services, or even planning lighting for the walk out to the parking lot at the end of the night are all details we help couples with. Melissa and Alex's family had an ATV onsite, which help for helping to transport guests like Melissa's father who had trouble walking. 8. Create a Well-Defined Layout Design a layout that maximizes the space available onsite and ensures smooth transitions throughout your wedding. A well-organized seating plan, clear signage, and designated areas for different activities, such as the ceremony, reception, and dance floor is key. When we are planning weddings at private residences, we have found multiple walk throughs are crucial to creating a seamless plan and elevated design. 9. Plan For Renting Tables, Chairs, and More When planning a wedding at a private residence, you'll need to rent tables, chairs, linens, and other essential items. Coordinate with rental companies well in advance to ensure you have everything you need. Do you know we start your rental order, hold your delivery date the same day you sign our contract - that is how essential it is to quick secure the services of a rental company. All of our packages include rental coordination for a reason. There are so many details to consider and we love taking couples to the showrooms to build the perfect tablescape. We will ensure nothing is missed, that you have the correct quantities, that your catering team is looped in and taken care of, and oh...we also get a discount which we pass along to you. Win, win, win! 10. Hire Catering and Food Service Hiring a professional catering service is crucial to ensure your guests are well-fed and satisfied. Ensure the catering team has access to a functional kitchen or catering tent and that they are familiar with the logistics of your location. Not only will we help find an incredible partner but we will make sure to work with them to ensure they have the equipment necessary to prepare your meal and serve your guests including working out plans for water, ice, a bussing station and ensuring the bar and catering tent is lighted (and that light is accounted for in all electrical calculations) to ensure they can continue to serve well into the evening. 11. Hire Someone to Handle Sound and Entertainment Nobody wants the party to be interrupted by sound equipment failure or rough transitions. Hire a professional sound and entertainment company that can handle the unique challenges of an outdoor or private residence wedding. They should have experience with setting up sound systems in different environments and be prepared for any technical issues. We will ensure they have enough gear (for the multiple setups), are prepared to handle the wind (so your mics aren't all full of wind static) and we will of course ensure their gear is safe regardless of whether. DJ Hunter Quinn kept the party going for Riley and Brian so no one had to worry about changing the song or keeping to the right mood, and everyone got to dance their hearts out. 12. Safety First Have a plan in place for emergencies, including a first aid kit and fire extinguishers is key. As your planner, we are first and foremost your advocate. As such, we love creating self care stations with bug spray, sun screen, shoe wipes, and cool towelettes. We will also work with you and the property owners to get the insurance necessary to protect you from any accidents that could happen. We have your back from day 1. 13. Designate a "venue manager" When we do private residence weddings, we always designate one of our team members or have our couples designate a either family member to act as venue manager. As vendors arrive on the day of, people will have questions, look for places to set up, and guests will no doubt have questions about access to the house. The property owner (your mom, dad, aunt, grandparents, etc.) shouldn't have to play host and miss out on the fun. If you aren't working with us, I highly recommend you designate someone to play this role or allow one of our teammembers to take this off your hands. 14. Communication with Vendors and Guests Effective communication is key to a successful private residence wedding. Keep your vendors informed about the location's specific requirements (up hills, exposed sun, etc.) and ensure your guests receive clear directions and any pertinent information about the event. We have been known to send emails about bees, the need for heel protectors or wedges, or reminders about the PNW cool ocean evening breezes. 15. Call on Your Perfect Bridesmaid Our goal is to make your backyard wedding dreams come true and help you navigate all the logistics, ask the right questions, and find you the most fitting vendors. Whether that's an elevated wedding, or simple backyard wedding on a budget, everyone deserves to have peace of mind during the process and on their wedding day. We are there to help make that happen. Hosting your wedding at a private residence in the Pacific Northwest can be a dream come true, offering a unique and personal touch to your special day. By following these tips, you'll be well-prepared to navigate the challenges and create beautiful memories that you, your partner, and your guests will cherish forever. Embrace the natural beauty of the region and enjoy your wedding day in this enchanting corner of the world. We would love to be by your side, making this the best day possible! • Vintage red and pink cocktail party wedding at Coopers Hall - Kristy and Brandon

August | This 70's inspired minimal but edgy pink and red color palette is worth saving to your Pinterest board for your non-traditional wedding. | Photo By Andreia Claro | Don't want a traditional wedding design? Want a little bit of spice in your wedding? This is it. This is the inspiration. Kristy and Brandon were an absolute VISION, and Andreia Claro really captured it with her flash photography. Kristy in her vintage-inspired and stylish little white dress and their minimal but edgy pink and red color palette are worth saving to your Pinterest board for your non-traditional wedding. Kristy and Brandon hosted their wedding in an exceptional indoor venue (shout out to Coopers Hall for having amazing staff, in-house catering and an abundance of plants)- the perfect setting to bring in bold color. With our Premiere Package, we helped K&B bring their ideas to life with a plan to scatter the reds and pinks throughout the neutral space, and took care of styling their wedding details. We loved the custom match books and the nostalgic cow cookies (from Kristy's childhood) that found their way into the wedding dessert lineup (and the inflatable cow one of the guests brought who knew Kristy too well). • Ethereal, white and champagne garden wedding at Leach Botanical Garden - Erin and Calder

June | Airy and billowing chiffon, pearled linens and romantic summer blooms made this wedding feel like a fairytale. A white wedding with hints of blush, champagne, and taupe. | Photo By Dionne Kraus | Leach Botanical Garden has the most beautiful stone patio with a little white manor house, tucked away amongst the trees and surrounded by greenery. All of this made it the perfect backdrop for Erin and Calder's romantic summer wedding, and their intentionally selected details brought in a light and airy charm. For their ceremony, we loved the lightness of the chiffon and the details of the chandelier against the greenery-heavy background. Since the small space requires a flip between ceremony and reception, it doubled as a romantic backdrop for their sweetheart table. And that wasn't the only beautiful backdrop. Leach is full of magical nooks and backgrounds, like the corner where we set up E&C's photo moment, the secondary pergola where we placed their elegant bar front, and the whimsical willow tree that loomed over their dessert table and champagne tower. Their reception was even more romantic, with white runners detailed with little pearls, rose gold tapered candle holders, modern white stoneware plates and the over-draped, shimmery chiffon cascading over the wooden dinner tables. Details matter! We loved how everything came together, and so glad E&C trusted us with the details. See The Vendor Team who made this day a reality at the end of the gallery. • Bohemian wedding at the historic St. John's Inn & iconic Revolution Hall - Isabelle and Alexander

July | A bohemian, al-fresco wedding overlooking the Willamette River - a Portlander's dream! | Photo By Taylor Roach | This summer bohemian wedding was beautiful and had the best energy - just look at the photo of Alexander dancing on the table! I&A invited less than 90 people to celebrate riverside, and a few of them to stay onsite at the historic Inn. We loved their aisle of colorful rugs and their choice of wooden chairs and tables that seemed to fit perfectly in the outdoor setting. Their timeline was also quite unique, but it allowed time and space for moments to happen naturally! We built in about an hour of photo time, which allowed everyone to have fun and hit Isabelle's priorities of getting all the family photos before the next event. Their dancing also took place at a second location, the iconic Revolution Hall. We made sure to build in time for guests to get there, and for the wedding party to go off and take sunset photos before their grand entrance into the Hall. Goes to show that anything is possible with the right team and a little bit of planning! It was an honor to plan one of the first weddings at the Inn for such an intimate wedding. One of Isabelle and Alexander's priorities was to have smooth transitions and make guests feel comfortable. Logistically, we had to plan for a few things for that to happen: bringing bathrooms on site, coordinating renting tables and chairs, securing a well-equipped catering and service crew, setting up at two locations, and more. Our Signature Package covers all that and more! See The Vendor Team who made this day a reality at the end of the gallery. • Black and white winter wedding at the Olympic Rooftop Pavilion - Christina and Brian

Winter / November || White clouds of baby's breath and roses against the night of the winter sky - black and white never looked so good! | Photo By Amanda Amphlett | For winter weddings, sunset time should always be a consideration for your timeline and your decor. For Christina & Brian, the early sunset wasn't a problem with their black and white color palette and chic, moody table setting. The night sky through the rooftop windows made the white clouds of flowers pop, and their candles gave the best ambient glow. We timed the ceremony with the sunset so that guests got to enjoy an uninterrupted view from the rooftop. While C&B opted for no first look, we made sure that they got all the wedding party photos that they could before the sun went down. Christina and Brian opted for our Signature Package to help them organize their plan, decor, and ultimately have a team there to help lead the day, manage, and redecorate after the ceremony when we flipped the space to reception. If you look through galleries at Skamania Lodge, you won't see anything like this one! As full service planners, we helped curate an absolute dream team, and the result was unforgettable. We had an amazing time working out the smallest of details with their incredible vendors to create unique and custom designs for their wedding. Amy with Brier + Ivy created floral installations for the rafters in the Riverview Pavilion that never been done before in the space and every guest was in awe of her work. She also brought in custom wrought iron pieces for a unique ceremony set up. August 2022 | Bohemian wedding with jewel-toned florals and vibrant rugs with a stunning mountain view. There's a reason the venue Wind Mountain Ranch is also called "Gorge-Ous Weddings". | Photo By Jen Jones Photography | The colors! Kieran and Colby opted for a bohemian, jewel-toned wedding with vintage décor from Great Jones NW. The color came both from the moody and ethereal arrangements by Trellis Flowers and the vibrant rugs the couple rented from Great Jones NW. We even loved how they incorporated the draping and greenery in the tent to give it a softer feel, and really leaned into the the floral details - Colby's suit, the invite suite, the gold-rimmed floral plates. Wind Mountain Ranch, or Gorge-Ous weddings, is the perfect venue for mountain and forest lovers who want to be immersed in nature, but want the logistical ease of a venue with amenities.
