- Moody, Western Fantasy Wedding in the Forest at Camp Colton
Yee-haw, welcome to a bohemian and western-inspired dream wedding! Because we all go through that cowboy phase, right? Or do we? This one is for the couple who wants to embrace the Pacific Northwest, adorn with leather and fringe, and accent with fur and florals. Our planner (and cowgirl) Katie O created this mood board for the couples who can yee a good haw and aren't afraid of incorporating darker colors into their palette. This wedding might embrace the beautiful backdrop of the Pacific Northwest, incorporate ferns and other NW fauna, and embrace a little bit of rain (for those who dare). For a list of real vendors in the Northwest we recommend to achieve this wedding, scroll down to the bottom. THE MOOD BOARD We created this shoot from a mood board! - Classic wedding at the iconic Admiral's House - Tara and Rob
August - Elegant, classic & timeless wedding in Seattle, Washington, featuring light and greenery installations and a ethereal, white monochrome ceremony arch. | Photo By Wiley Putnam | Talk about a wedding venue with a view! There's not many places that offer an intimate space to gather and unobstructed views of the Seattle skyline. It was such an honor to help T&R turn their vision into a reality. Through our Deluxe Package, we helped them achieve a beautiful, under-stated table design and lounge area, bringing the design of the house and interior into the exterior, and flourished the space with draping greenery and floral installations on the iconic house. The real showstopper was the growing ivory and blush ceremony alter, designed by Anthera Floral. The ivory and blush flowers contrasted against the lush green and made the space feel like you'd stumbled into a secret garden. The venue's garden area that makes you feel like you two and your friends/family are the only people on earth. Make sure you scroll all the way through to see Tara's STUNNING reception dress and the Seattle skyline at night! See The Vendor Team who made this day a reality at the end of the gallery. - How to survive a wedding show or bridal expo and save money on your wedding
No need to aimlessly wander the aisles of a wedding expo - learn how to attend a wedding show or expo prepared with a game plan on what to prioritize. | Photos by Rebecca Jane Photography | Wedding shows are a great way to survey the world of wedding planning - you'll get to meet vendors, meet venues, try-on, see or purchase wedding attire at a discount, or even pocket design ideas displayed at vendor booths. While wedding shows can be a lot fun, they can be overwhelming - especially if you're not prepared. Here are 15 tips to make your wedding show experience in the PNW success: If you're looking for a few more showcases to attend, catch Your Perfect Bridesmaid and dozens of other Oregon and Washington based wedding vendors at these events: OREGON Venue Crawl (Wine Country) - April 6, 2024 WASHINGTON Seattle Wedding Show - January 27-28, 2024 (use code SWSYPB) Weddings in Woodinville - February 4, 2024 1. Pencil out the details of your wedding basics, like date, budget and priorities. Deciding on a date for your wedding, a tentative budget, and a rough list of priorities will help give you the base to have good conversations with vendors and venues that will be at the wedding show. 2. Come prepared with a list of questions to ask priority vendors. Wedding shows are such an easy way to meet with vendors without having to schedule a sales call, and having a list of questions prepared will help with these conversations and knowing if they're a good fit for you. To help with this process, we've crafted a our Guide to Vendor Consultations and questions to ask vendors before you book - and we want you to have it. 3. Research the vendors attending and look at the map Take a glance at the vendor list for the wedding show you're attending. If there's any you recognize, write down their names or print out the map and circle their booth. Walking down every aisle is usually the way to go, but in the case that you start running low on energy, you know what aisles to prioritize. FOR EXAMPLE: The 2024 Seattle Wedding Show, they have a map of vendors and where they will be located. Avoid fatigue and make a map so you're not wandering aimlessly 4. Invite some of your “I do Crew” Often wedding shows are called "Bridal Shows", but know that these are for everyone! Bring along your fiancé, wedding party, or family members for support. Having someone to help you make decisions and offer their opinion will make your experience more enjoyable. Photo by Myrtle Creative Co 5. Dress comfortably and come prepared Don't underestimate the power of coming prepared. While it might seem a little extra, believe us when we say that wedding shows and open houses can be tiring and require a lot of walking, so do yourself a favor and wear comfortable shoes and clothing. If you plan to browse featured weddings dresses, be sure to wear something that's easy to change out and garments suited for a variety of styles. Don't forget a tote bag to carry all the brochures, literature, and samples you receive at the show. This will keep your hands free to take notes, shake hands, and grab a snack. I also recommend bringing in a bottle of water and some hand sanitizer. Wedding Show Survival Packing List Tote Bag Water Bottle Folder Notebook Comfortable Shoes Hand Sanitizer Snacks Clothes to easily change out of if trying on dresses 6. Take advantage of discounts and giveaways Many vendors offer discounts and giveaways at these wedding shows, so be on the lookout for these opportunities. We recommend to follow any vendors of interest on social media, because if they're giving away resources, meetings, or discounts, you'll be after to hear about it first there. Psst - we have a discount code listed on our Instagram for the Seattle Wedding Show, and we'll be giving away free Ask A Planner "Try Before You Buy" consultations at any of the above wedding shows if you schedule one at our booth! You can often save money on your wedding expenses by booking vendors you met at the show, which is why the Guide To Vendor Consultations mentioned above will come in handy. I also want to make sure I give a cautionary tale here: I highly recommend running your list of favorite vendors by your coordinator. While we want you to save money we don’t want you rushing into a decision and booking a vendor who isn’t right for you or doesn't leave room for your other priorities. 7. Attend seminars Look ahead at the wedding show website for any seminars or talks that are occurring and mark them on your calendar, and pay attention to what vendors are giving the talks! Seminars offer valuable information and tips for soon-to-be-weds, and even if you don't book any vendors onsite, you're sure to come home with helpful info and visit the websites of those giving the seminars later - they likely have a wealth of information there, too. 8. Keep an eye out for wedding planner booths If you don't already have a wedding planner or coordinator, make sure to stop by a few booths. We love giving insider info, like which vendors at the show are our favorites to work with, and we love meeting couples and hearing about your wedding plans! 9. Attend a fashion show Most wedding shows will have a fashion show featuring the latest wedding trends and dresses. Attending these shows can give you inspiration for your own wedding and help you find a dress you love. 10. Use your camera Take pictures of the vendors' displays, sample centers, and cakes to help you remember everything you saw and liked. This will also help narrow down your choices when you return home and give you ideas to add to your Pinterest Board. 11. Don't forget the food! Bridal shows often offer samples of wedding food and cake, so make sure to try a few bites. This will give you a taste of what the vendor offers and help you decide on your own wedding menu. 12. Take breaks Wedding shows can be exhausting, so take breaks to rest and recharge. This will help you enjoy the entire event and not get overwhelmed. 13. Be open to new ideas While attending the wedding show, keep an open mind to new ideas and trends. You might find something you never thought of that would be perfect for your wedding. Many vendors put a lot of thought into their booth design or feature designs from past weddings, which can be a great source of inspiration. 14. Network with other couples Bridal shows are a great opportunity to connect with other brides and share information and ideas. You might even make some new friends in the process. 15. Have fun! Remember that wedding shows are meant to be enjoyable, so have fun while you're there. Take in all the sights and sounds of the event, and enjoy this special time in your life. You're going to crush your first wedding show if you prepare even a little bit. Planning can be fun - you just have to have the right guidance so you don't get lost in the overwhelm. Hope to see you at one of the upcoming events we'll be at! With Love, Kim Morrill
- Greenery-foward wedding at Noble Ridge Tree Deck - Alyssa and Jackson
August | Sometimes all you need is an incredible mountain view and greenery for a memorable wedding. | Photo By Luke + Mallory | We loved how Alyssa and Jackson prioritized elevated wooden chairs instead of white folding chairs, but kept the tablescape simple with greenery-forward centerpieces. Sometimes you only need to elevate one aspect of your design to make a statement! They also opted for food carts for a more casual dinner, and for logistical reasons since the venue didn't have a prep kitchen onsite. However, they didn't skip on the service - an essential part of the vendor team was The Waitstaff Team, who helped ensure the food service was smooth and gave a heavy helping hand to our team to flip the space after ceremony. We consider ourselves blessed and lucky to have gotten to be one of the preferred planners at Noble Ridge Tree Deck. Alyssa and Jackson's wedding was one of the first times we've planned and designed in the space, and we've had the pleasure of being there multiple times since. This venue is undeniably beautiful, but requires a lot of logistical planning to be able to flip the space from ceremony to reception without keeping your guests waiting for too long. - Fall wedding at The Foundry at Oswego Point - Robin and Kevin
October | The dock at The Foundry is always an appeal to couples, but the views get even better in the fall! | Photo By Micky Bones Photography | Forever comes later for some couples, but it's never too late. Robin and Kevin found each other later in life and wanted to celebrate in a fun and sophisticated style. While fall in the PNW always threatens rain, the clouds opened up just in time for Robin and Kevin's ceremony out on the deck that overlooks the Willamette River. It was perfect! We'd like to think it was because of our rain dance - we'll do anything to hope for good weather on your wedding day! See The Vendor Team who made this day a reality at the end of the gallery. - Delicate Garden Party Wedding Inspired by "Lover" At Trinity Tree Farm - Annie and Mitchell
August | Elegant, Summer Wedding with and indoor and outdoor space full of pinks, yellows, and periwinkle blues. | Photo By NW Film Co | Annie and Mitchell knew right away that they wanted an outdoor, summer wedding. When they found The Lodge at Trinity Tree Farm, it was love at first sight. This Washington-based venue was able to perfectly accommodate their elegant, garden wedding. The wedding was packed full of summer colors - yellows, pinks, and periwinkle blues. Inspired by Taylor Swift's Lover album! A&M's wedding stored precious, and personal details throughout. The bar napkins had old love notes that the couple had written to one another printed onto them. These small details made the wedding experience unique for the guests. - Romantic & classic wedding at Sugar Pine Barn - Michele and Marcus
October | Minimalistic and romantic design that transformed a traditionally rustic space. Sugar Pine has a beautiful barn, expansive vineyards AND a ceremony garden. | Photo By Chelsea Isley Photography | Way out in the Southeast corner of Washington lies Sugar Pine Barn at Tucannon Cellars - the perfect venue if you can't decide between a barn or vineyard wedding! Michele and Marcus specifically wanted a romantic wedding, and to not lean into the rustic side of the barn. With our Signature Package, we helped them set up their champagne and white decor to bring a bit of elegance to the barn. We curated a vendor list that was able to execute their vision. - Elegant and picturesque wedding at The Club at Snoqualmie - Rachel and Patrick
September | A breathtaking mountain backdrop for ceremony and a comfortable ballroom reception, flourished with a classic white and green palette with little pops of baby blue. | Photo By Ciccarelli Photography | After seeing this venue for the first time, we instantly added it to our list of Washington venues with a view. The Club at Snoqualmie had a STUNNING mountain backdrop for ceremony, and a great indoor ballroom option that makes for a great rain plan (not that we needed it for this day) Rachel and Patrick's family came from all over the country - and none of them had ever seen Washington. It was incredible watching the guests ogle at the mountain beauty. R&P hired us for Day-of Coordination so we could help them manage a day that let all of their guests and family enjoy themselves and feel taken care of during their trip to Washington. Their ceremony was special not only because of the view, but because R&P opted for no first look and saw each other for the first time that day walking down the aisle. We helped them build a timeline to hold space for that moment, ensure they got all their important photos, and didn't keep them away from guests for too long - a true balancing act! For reception, Rachel and Patrick went for an elegant, all-white design with little pops of baby blue - a simple palette that flourished the space and proves that you don't always need color for a beautiful wedding. The ballroom at The Club at Snoqualmie Ridge is already beautiful, but we love the added draping and twinkle lights that R&P opted for - a simple touch that make the interior feel more warm and inviting. And talk about a great dance party. R&P hired The Afterparty Band and it was a blast! This wedding was a true testament to how fun live music at weddings can be. June | Greenery-forward design in a lush, garden setting on Bainbridge Island with the CUTEST DIY favor wall. | Photo by AM Impressions | White and greenery will always be a timeliness design, but we love how much texture Poppin' Peonies incorporated in C&D's lush pillars - just enough to flourish the already beautiful garden setting at The Manor House on Bainbridge Island.
