October | A little moody, a little goth, and a whole lot of black. This fall wedding at Blockhouse and Pomarius Nursery was just a little different.

This fall wedding at Blockhouse wasn't your usual wedding. It wasn't bright and white, nor did it follow the traditional timeline template. Instead, this unique wedding was filled with black and gothic accents, inspired by Tim Burton, fall colors and Halloween but without being overly Halloween themed. How do you do that? Well, hire a team that just gets it. We loved the assignment, and the vendors all understood the assignment!
With a guest count of around 50, Elizabeth and Kevin wanted their wedding to be a place where their friends and family could meet for the first time, mingle, but also retreat to their own little corner if they wanted.
So instead of a traditional reception, they hosted a cocktail-style dinner. We created multiple tables and lounges for different sized groups, that way everyone had multiple options to choose from and Elizabeth and Kevin didn’t have to create a seating chart. Instead of a buffet, Pearl Catering created multiple food stations that we spread throughout the venue for a more casual, choose-your-own adventure dinner. The most fun part about this design is that we got to help them design a few different tablescapes for each table type.
One of our favorite areas of this wedding was the lounge space, featuring dark velvet lounge pieces and a lush meadow of moody flowers that we repurposed from their ceremony arch.
Behind every beautiful wedding is a talented team of people - see The Vendor Team who made this day a reality at the end of the gallery.
